About

Izaac Enciso, (b. Mexico City, 1980) is an artist working across different mediums including: sculpture, film and sound in order to create interdimensional projects and multisensorial experiences. He is interested in using samples of personal experience and intrapersonal matters among global contexts such as the climate change, the migrant crisis, gender and race equality, mental and physical health, economy, politics and power; whilst mixing humor, spirituality, erotism, and other relevant subtexts in his work.

His research based work can be described as abstract, conceptual and anecdotal, and it feeds from his field work by documenting and investigating locations, spaces and social groups with iconic identities. Formally, his visual work intends to expand perception where aesthetic research and design are at the core of his exploratory practice.

Enciso has exhibited his work at different galleries in the US, Europe and China, BANK Gallery, Shanghai; Rubber Factory and Elizabeth Warren Gallery in New York, ONCA Gallery in the UK, among others, and his work has been published in fine art catalogs, international magazines and trade journals around the world. He is a published author with several books and recordings under his sleeve. His book SYMBOLS was launched at the LA Art Book Fair at the MOCA Geffen in Los Angeles in 2016, CA. Through his work, Enciso has won awards and accolades in both the commercial and the fine art world which has helped him being granted an O-1 Visa in the USA (2016-2019) under the sponsorship of the gallery Visual Artist Group, and (2019-2026) with LIXA Inc, an Art and Media Artists Rep Company. Enciso attended business, advertising and film schools in Mexico, Spain and the US and he has continued to expand his education through several certificates of advanced studies, courses and continuing education in art history, photography, film, music and sustainability, and is currently interested in starting a postgraduate Art Program.

Enciso works commercially as a Film Director.

In 2012 Studio Izaac Enciso was established as a personal space for artistic research and practice.

Izaac Enciso lives and works in Los Angeles, CA and Mexico.
